Most politicians and people interested in politics have no idea how little power politicians have anymore, and how little faith people have in their game.
They're a toxic blend of ignorance and arrogance.
For every one UK soldier in 2024 that reported high morale, six reported low or very low morale, and morale declined for the third year in a row, as to be expected when the authorities double down on their clowning competition.
I remember, when I worked for Biffa, my driver mentioning the degree to which his friend group died of drugs when he was younger. He basically said it was really bad.
Obviously, if you die young of drugs, you have no children to send to school, so there's a survivorship bias.
I had a young Biffa colleague who said he'd been suicidal in the past. That must have been when he was in school.
Personally, I didn't hate school, but I suffered physically (sleep deprivation), and I hate it now that I've realised what it really is.
When I did leaflet distribution for a month, most of the workers did drugs and I heard one say that there's a place in Scotland that's really bad with drugs.
Like, that's awful, all the drug use. Clearly, these are abused people. I can only imagine that so many people would abuse substances if they were first abused by the state, basically like this, though exact reasons for addiction surely vary:

The government in China has limited gaming time for kids.
The UK government considered time limits and curfews for certain apps for kids.
But the only reason kids use devices irresponsibly is because they are treated irresponsibly in the first place.
The political response to obviously failing at least certain types of people?
To pretend to care, and make sure everyone knows that "Change" is coming, because advertising is easier than thinking.
There are more ex-lawyer Labour MPs than ex-binman Labour MPs in the Labour Party.
Worse than that, there are no current MPs in the UK Parliament, across any party, with a documented background as a refuse collector. 27 Labour MPs elected in the 2024 general election have a background as lawyers, however.
They're not actually passionate about labour. They're a bunch of LARPing aura farmers — meaning they're performative attention-seekers.
There's no way that an ex-lawyer Labour MP would care more about the struggles of binmen or soldiers than what they personally think.
Surely, if Labour was about empowering labourers and making a better future for the labouring kind, the party would be completely different.
The entire political class is just a scamming operation, and if the scamming doesn't stop, well it will stop because nobody will care what they have to say, and the police will enforce whatever laws they feel like and the army wouldn't bother to protect the state.
Change is coming, but it can't come from established politicians who advertise their "Change", "Reform" or "Renewal", because they are the status quo, who quite like the status quo and will defend it, but obviously not with their lives, because they're passionate about leeching, not serving.
"Real change" would not use these words or advertise itself as radical (as does the Everyone is God Party). It will call itself something unique and put forth clearly revolutionary ideas — which it'll call sensible, not radical.
Increasing violence in some categories, high drug deaths and suicides, high obesity, declining healthy life expectancy, sub-replacement and declining birth, declining employment, declining testosterone and sperm count, increasing depression, increasing prices, high taxes, an increasing welfare bill...
What does the SNP have to say about these symptoms of system failure?
"Scotland has a good education system".
If you just evaluated schools on real life performance and feedback, as opposed to exam results, you'd fix all of these problems. Free the kids and free and incentivise the schools to figure out how to produce the best real life results and positive feedback. Simple as. No need for exams and curriculums. Seriously. As opposed to treating kids like cattle, make school an inviting place of opportunity and community. As long as each child knows their rights and what their school offers, what they do should ultimately be up to them.
It should not be the coerced expectation that every kid's educational experience is almost exactly the same. Everybody needs core skills to be able to communicate and count and such. Everybody needs basic knowledge of dangers and places. That's about all of the necessary overlap.
Leave the rest up to personality, curiosity and passion.
Why didn't politicians think of this already? Isn't it their job to think outside the box? How can you be a political leader if you don't think for yourself, for others? To be a meaningful political leader, you have to think for yourself for others.
Don't just copy baby boxes from Finland like the SNP, or do a DOGE thing, copying Elon Musk, like Reform.
Probably a reason why politicians don't think for themselves is because the education system raises people to not think for themselves.
Politicians don't want to contend with reality. It's too frightening and confusing for their small brains. So, in their perfect world in their head in which they do no wrong, it must be rich people and social media influencers and other politicians and young people who are the problem. Not them. No. Never them. There's nothing they can figure out right now to improve everything. They said Brexit would fix things. Didn't fix anything. They'll say Scottish independence will fix things. Won't fix anything. They'll say there's a bright future ahead. Minor tweaks aren't gonna make it happen.
To believe that the education system is good, or to take men who claim they're women seriously, or to do a proxy war with Russia and house random male asylum claimants in hotels using taxpayer money, is luxury politics for the privileged. That privilege won't be granted for many more years.
Politicians should only engage in such luxury when the basic politics of how to have a happy and healthy population is sorted.
They'll never admit that they mostly became politicians just so that they could feel important and feel smart, given that they're actually not smart — which is an egocentric recipe for dystopia. There is a recipe for utopia and it involves a system of distributing political responsibility and authority directly to trusted people such that it isn't limited to those willing and able to join parties and/or who have or seek a following.
In one way or another, the clown world politics will end, and hopefully not in an eruption of what many might consider random, unprompted violence — forever in their bubble, detached, unconcerned, oblivious, as though waiting blissfully for history to repeat itself.

I had a great life ahead of me, and school squashed that, and I'm not alone. The first world has a great life ahead of it, squashed by the stupid education system. I'm just one among millions. The world as a whole is in the same boat as me. The difference with me is that I can see the true cause of the downfall. Even politicians can't.
I see why they can't.
It was a mistake to give power to the power-seeking. Democracy doesn't make up for the fact that you're voting for people who seek power.
I understand why hereditary power was a thing.
It's an easy way to kind of have a mix of random/deserved power.
Like, say there's a town hero and the people decide to make him leader, and then his children are the next leaders because that's randomness (his children did not seek the power) and also his children are likely to have his qualities.
Whereas with democracy it's like a few randos trying to convince everyone that they should be leader.
The vast majority of people who seek power are worse than average at giving it back — making politicians hardwired to create dystopia and not utopia — regardless of how much they complain about Gaza or rattle "equality" and "diversity" in your face or whatever it may be.
This means that even simply a government composed of randomly selected people would be better than a government composed of people who decided that they want to be politicians.
The Lib Dems aren't liberal, the Conservatives aren't conservative, Labour aren't passionate about labour, Reform aren't reformist...
Politicians (and party members) will be what they are until the end of time unless we stop giving power to the power-seeking....
There isn't left versus right. What there really is, is the power-seeking versus the uninvolved, disregarded, deceived underclass.
It's the arrogant versus the awesome.
The politicians seem to think that because they get lots of votes, it means they barely need to try — despite the obvious suffering.
Powerful people ❤ the status quo. If it worked for them to become politicians, why not everyone else?
Many of them have turned to authoritarian policies to try to fix problems. Of course they have. What else to expect from the power-seeking?
Despite having different ideologies, or so you'd expect, they all believe that the state should treat children in essentially the same way. Except they don't believe that. They don't believe in much except for their quest for power.
The untapped wisdom in the world is immense.
All the buzzwords that politicians say and supposedly believe in are yapping. Never trust a politician who'll "fight" for you or "tackle" for you. A professional and humble servant of the people would not use such language.
By the way, school should exist as an actual public service to children. Currently, it exists as service to the state, which is mainly why everything besides free market technology is getting worse. Ties on children. Ties on some dressed-up soldiers. Ties on politicians. It is a spectre of faux professionalism. I’d trust a bunch of mute autists and paranoid schizophrenics to be my policy advisors more than I would current politicians. Just being able to say understandable things doesn’t mean you have anything insightful to say. Einstein said "the only thing that interferes with my learning is my education" but of course that's of no concern to a politician. In the head of a politician, what they think is more important than what greats and geniuses think.

Decision-making:
All political decisions have to go through our informal, messaging-app-based councils of awesome dudes and mothers - according to a new decision-making philosophy emphasising productive and good people who did not seek political power.
We will find and include the strongest, smartest and kindest people in these national and constituency councils - tapping their wisdom. Public processes will be informed by the best and brightest, enabling continual improvement and value for taxpayer money.
We will not do meaningless speeches and interviews like mini dictators. We will do meaningful social structure to channel the people's will, which is what liberal democracy is supposed to be.
Education:
Make education truly free, as opposed to a fascistic regime (which ignores talent and is terrified of self-development) which it is now, and 'reward' schools whose former students were successful in life, by way of the reinforcement learning technique. Each school will have a "strategy" document, determining staff functions and the intended "marketplace of opportunities" of the school. Opportunities will be offered from conception. Forget school as you knew it. Whoever invented it is an idiot or a bad person. "It takes a village to raise a child." Used strategy documents will evolve according to the points-based feedback mechanism which includes former students rating their school experience from 1 to 10 on how positively they think it shaped their future. Minimum (physical) attendance will be 5 hours per year up to the age of 16 - long enough to check that no-one's missing out or being exploited. People will be free to make "opportunities" and "strategies", as described, so long as their implementation is approved by the "councils" described. The designers and staff of strategies that reach new high scores (and are therefore perpetuated) will be rewarded financially for it. Besides subjective surveys, strategies will get more points when former students have low crime, high fitness, birth rate, innovations etc. Geographical boundaries will determine which school is by default responsible for a child, but a school can allow children from different areas. When a child takes an opportunity from a school (even just using the library for one day), its strategy is then subject to points feedback from and regarding that individual.
There may be several different high-points strategies that emerge, allowing for different types of schools, much like how evolution results in different adaptations depending on environment. A school may require a strategy change, if a generally high points strat doesn't get high points as expected for that school.
This is undeniably the best school system ever invented. I'm Gen Z and welcome to our amazing future.
Entropy will return humanity to dust if we continue our thoughtless traditions for no reason other than a lack of meek leadership.
Military:
You will be able to crowdfund (or pay your way) open campaigns which British men can join. It will be a bit like the Wagner Group was, but good and towards ideological goals as opposed to just chasing money. Campaigns will be "led from the front". GoPro cameras must be worn.
Make veterans' centres (like army barracks). Make cooled doomguy armour and forward-thinking 107(H)×170(L)×77(W)cm remote-controlled "supply bot" agile battle platform vehicles. 7 doomguys per bot, which has an MG swivel turret on top on one end, perches for quick mounting/dismounting like binmen used to on the backs of waste trucks, can launch drones, and has two slots inside for casualties. The MG can be fired while standing next to or sitting on the bot, or remotely using a tablet and controller, with a camera on the MG.
END MILITARY ADVERTS. End pomp and pageantry. End drama. End cringe. End "service" e.g. "servicemen".
Less taxation, more crowdfunding.
Let's enter the new space age as an advanced civilisation, not a decaying idiocracy.
