Social stuff is the opposite of maths stuff, so to say people are "equal" or otherwise use that word is a bit odd. It can be very good, but also very bad. It can be bad if it encourages simplifying and standardising relationships between people, basically autistically erasing individuality and reality, which can't end well.
It can be good when it encourages people not to spend their life serving others before themselves, or serving themselves as the centre of their universe, basically only serving others if it's actually part of a plan for selfish benefit.
So, you have to consider what the word is going to change about whoever's behaviour you want to change or optimise, which is your reason for using that word.
You basically can't win because for every benefit will be a loss. A magic word isn't going to make people treat each other better.
It can make someone understand how and why others interact with people as they do, so that they don't misunderstand the world. Before being told to value "equality" or whatever, someone would first have to be treated accordingly.
Of course, really the only people who use political buzzwords are self-serving, selfish power-seeking people hoping to bend others to their will.
